Finally finished it. 
Made this for *TeaAndZebraStripes
Also, =Puushiki This is your desert.
Took about 2-3 weeks, working on it off and on, working on it when I could, inbetween school and what not.
I hope everyone likes the way it turned out.
I messed around with the terrain this time, and believe it or not, I only used two terrain planes this time. The pillar has a cracked clay pot texture, and the gem has a Chinese Turquoise texture. I love how this composition turned out, and I might re-render it multiple times. I might change the sand color, and maybe add some more terrain planes to it. Possibly change the sky color and the camera angle.
Oh well. When It was fully rendered, there were a total of 1.2 billion primary rays. A grand total of 694,320 pixels. And finally, 5.35 billion intersect attempts.
I might do more to this artwork. Not sure yet. It has lots of potential though.
